On Sunday, Brooklyn begins its Biotechnology Crash Course, Cambridge has a series of flash presentations, Oakland continues their Open Insulin project, and Reston is building a bacteria incubator.
On Monday, Brooklyn begins their four session Biohacker Boot Camp, with special guest lecturer camera, mechatronic, biologic art/science hacker Marc Dusseiller, and Oakland continues their plant project education and brainstorming.
On Tuesday, Amsterdam has Špela Petrič, Mike Thompson, Susana Cámara Leret and Pei-Ying Lin collaborating on a workshop focusing on behavior and embodied experience as a way to reflect on codes of conduct and rituals (past, present, future) that can help with a deeper understanding and discussion of the current antibiotic crisis, Cambridge has bioart pioneer Joe Davis with his talk “Astrobiological Horticulture”, a multifaceted project to create organisms suited for survival in extraterrestrial environments, and Sunnyvale continues their Quantum Salinity Detector project.
On Wednesday, Ghent will show you how to grow edible mushrooms, Oakland continues their fun fermentation and Open Insulin projects, Sunnyvale continues their fluorescence microscope project, and Vancouver has an open lab night, featuring a workshop guided by Scott Pownall using legacy versions of software to create virtual DNA origami structures.
On Thursday Berlin has Ryan and Christian Fobel introducing an intense digital microfluidics hack session session, Bethesda will be attending a lecture in Washington, DC by Nadrian Seeman on programming DNA for a variety of other functions than than those in the the central dogma. Oakland and Sunnyvale collaborate on their bioprinter project, and Toronto has an informal workshop and study session on the molecular biology of the Arabidopsis mustard seed plant
On Friday, Denver has presentations from three Colorado, USA-based iGEM teams.
Finally, on Saturday, Berlin has Margherita Pevere conducting a workshop on growing cellulose, Oakland and Sunnyvale continue their collaboration on an evolved bacterial sunscreen, San Diego has an App-a-thon. (Seattle’s event has been cancelled due to weather concerns)

Here are your DIYbio events for the remainder of the week.
On Monday, Oakland and Sunnyvale continue their collaboration on Real Vegan Cheese. Oakland will also be carrying out a lesson on plant culturing, and will be helping with a panel discussion with academics, venture capitalists, botanists, and biohackers on Fear of the GMO Future in San Francisco.
On Tuesday, Amsterdam continues their cycle of collaborative projects, San Diego has Bethany Kolody talking about microbial communication on the ocean’s surface, Somerville will have Killian Veer demonstrating a web-platform for discovering and purchasing research materials used in molecular biology and genetics, and Sunnyvale continues their quantum salinity detector project. In San Francisco, the Synbiobeta 2-day conference begins.
On Wednesday, Heidelberg has a statue signing, where Rüdiger Trojok author of a book on biohacking, and Patrick Hasenfeld winner of Berlin Science Hack Day 1015 “Best Hardware Hack” prize will give short presentations, Oakland continues its fun fermentations and Open Insulin project, and Sunnyvale continues its fluorescence microscope project.
On Thursday, Brooklyn has Lisa Brown speaking about pharmacogenetics, and why medicine is always personal, and Oakland and Sunnyvale continue their collaboration on their bioprinter project.
Friday is the last day for registration for the Igem Giant Jamboree. Also on Friday, Singapore meets to discuss improvised lab equipment and home experiments, and Washington, DC has a discussion on the prospects of life and human habitability around nearby stars
Finally, on Saturday Austin has a learning session on re-purposing abandoned pools, spas, and ponds, and Seattle carries out a sheep brain dissection for beginning neuro-biologists.

On Monday, Bethesda is in Silver Spring for a talk by Ricky Solorzano on BioPrinting, Oakland tries to do some plant biology, and Somerville hosts a pubic forum in Cambridge led by Kevin Esvelt on engineering the mosquito in order to eradicate certain diseases.
On Tuesday Albany has neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux speaking about his latest book, Amsterdam continues their cycle of collaborative projects, Brooklyn has their CRISPR/CAS9 course (a prerequisite for hands on lab work) taught by Oliver Medvedik and Ellen Jorgensen, Cambridge has David Liu speaking about Phage-Assisted Continuous Evolution (PACE), Portland will be diving into Watson’s and Crick’s race to discover the source code of life as published in the article “A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid” Nature. 1953. Watson, J.D. & Crick, F.H.C., and Sunnyvale is continuing their quantum salinity detector project.
On Wednesday, Ghent continues work on domestic bugs, Minneapolis discusses bioreactors, Oakland continues their Open Insulin project as well as furthering fun fermentations, Sunnyvale continues their fluorescing microscope project, and Vancouver will be talking about near future semantic web technologies and their use in biotech research.
On Thursday, Berlin has a conference on synthetic biology, genome editing, and biohacking, Buenos Aires has Mariano Fressoli discussing citizen science activism and data, Lausanne is holding a workshop delving into the intricacies of memory, Sunnyvale is partnering to put on a a beer science and tasting event and is looking for volunteers to help. Oakland and Sunnyvale are collaborating on their bioprinter project.
On Friday, Baltimore has Jenny Carlson speaking on tick biology and lyme disease prevention.
